A man has been charged following investigations into three armed robberies across service stations in Sydney’s south west during the past three days.
Police will allege in court that, about 8.15pm on Saturday 18 September 2021, a man entered a service station on Clyde Street, South Granville, armed with a large kitchen knife. He demanded money from the employee which he then stole and ran from the store.
About 9.30am on Sunday 19 September 2021, and again today (Monday 20 September 2021), about 11.55am, a man matching the same description entered a service station on Blaxcell Street, Granville. On both occasions he was armed with a kitchen knife and threatened staff members before running from the location with an amount of cash.
Fortunately, no one was injured during the robberies.
Detectives from Cumberland Police Area Command commenced inquiries resulting in the arrest of a 27-year-old man at Byrnes Street, South Granville about 1.40pm today.
He was taken to Granville Police Station where he was charged with three counts of robbery while armed with an offensive weapon.
He was refused bail and will appear in Parramatta Local Court tomorrow (Tuesday 21 September 2021).
