NSW police charge man and woman for multiple retail theft offences in Sydney’s South West

A man will appear in court today after being charged after $25,000 worth of goods were seized during a police operation targeting retail theft and property-related offences across the Sydney Metropolitan area.

About 9.45am yesterday (Tuesday 25 June 2019), officers from Bankstown Police Area Command executed two search warrants at a home in Punchbowl and a storage unit in Bankstown.

During the search, police allegedly located and allegedly seized prohibited drugs believed to be cannabis, methylamphetamine, cocaine, along with beauty products, personal hygiene products, multi vitamins and baby formula.

Estimated value of items seized approximately $25,000.

Police arrested a 33-year-old man at the Punchbowl home and a 74-year-old woman at the Bankstown storage facility. They were taken to Bankstown Police Station.

The 33-year-old man was charged with 18 shoplifting offences and possess prohibited drug (x3).

He was refused bail to appear at Bankstown Local Court tomorrow (Wednesday 26 June 2019).

A 74-year-old Bankstown woman will be issued a Future Court Attendance Notice for the following offences: receive stolen property and deal with proceeds of crime.
