NSW police charge man and woman over stabbing

A man and woman have been charged after a man was allegedly stabbed in Sydney’s south-west at the weekend.

Emergency services were called to a home on Hemphill Avenue, Mount Pritchard, after reports of a stabbing about 11am on Saturday 25 July 2020.

A 38-year-old man suffered a punctured lung and was transported to Liverpool Hospital, where he remains in a stable condition.

Officers from Fairfield City Police Area Command established a crime scene and commenced an investigation.

Following inquiries, detectives attended a hotel on the Hume Highway, Lansvale, and arrested a 25-year-old man and 37-year-old woman.

The pair were taken to Fairfield Police Station, where they were charged with wounding with intent to cause grievous bodily harm.

They were refused bail and are due to appear in Liverpool Local Court today (Tuesday 28 July 2020).

The trio were known to each other.
