NSW police charge man for 2017 home invasion at Forbes

Police have charged a man over a 2017 home invasion in the state’s Central West.

About 3.30am on Wednesday 13 September 2017, it is alleged that a man forced open the front door of a home in Farnell St, Forbes.

Once inside, the intruder allegedly struck a 71-year-old male occupant several times with an iron bar.

Once the iron bar was removed from the alleged attacker’s grasp, he ran from the scene.

The injured man attended Forbes Hospital in a serious but stable condition, suffering head injuries.

Following an examination of the scene by officers from Central West Police District, Strike Force Buttsworth was established.

As a result of investigations, earlier today (Friday 17 May 2019), police arrested a 44-year-old man on Bridge St, Muswellbrook.

He was taken to Muswellbrook Police Station and charged with special aggravated break and enter with intent to wound.

He was refused bail to appear at Wyong Local Court via video link tomorrow (Saturday 18 May 2019).
