NSW police charge man for sexually touching aged care patient near Wollongong

A man has been charged for allegedly sexually touching a patient at an aged care facility within a hospital north of Wollongong.

Police allege the incident between two patients, aged 80 and 89, occurred on Monday (26 August 2019).

The matter was reported to police and about 5.30pm yesterday (Wednesday 28 August 2019) Detectives from Wollongong Police District attended the hospital and arrested an 80-year-old man.

The man was taken to Wollongong Police Station, where he was charged with sexually touch another person without consent.

The man was granted conditional bail and is due to appear before Wollongong Local Court on 8 October 2019.

The victim’s next of kin have been spoken to regarding the alleged incident.
