A man has been charged following an investigation by the Child Abuse and Sex Crimes Squad into the historic alleged sexual abuse of a man and teenage boy.

In May 2021, detectives from the State Crime Command’s Child Abuse and Sex Crimes Squad established Strike Force Condello to investigate allegations of sexual violence-related offences.

Following extensive inquiries, a 40-year-old man attended Oak Flats Police Station about midday today (Tuesday 22 March 2022).

He has since been charged with three counts of assault with act of indecency, and one count each of sexual intercourse without consent and common assault.

Police will allege in court that the man indecently assaulted a 17-year-old boy at Meroo Meadow in February 2013, and sexually abused a 27-year-old man in Sydney in September 2015.

He was granted conditional bail and is due to appear at Port Kembla Local Court on Wednesday 18 May 2022.
