A man has been charged after multiple people were allegedly defrauded when purchasing animals via an online marketplace this year.
Between April and July 2020, a man advertised dogs and cats – including a French Bulldog, Labrador, and a Ragdoll kitten– for sale online.
It’s alleged on four occasions, people paid money to the man for the animals, however they never received them.
Police were alerted and detectives from Camden Police Area Command commenced an investigation.
Following extensive inquiries, a 24-year-old man was arrested at Narellan Police Station about 8am today (Monday 27 July 2020).
The Harrington Park man was charged with four counts of dishonestly obtain financial advantage by deception.
He’s been refused bail to appear at Campbelltown Local Court tomorrow (Tuesday 28 July 2020).
