NSW police charge man over stabbing of neighbour at Batemans Bay

A man has been charged after allegedly stabbing his neighbour in Batemans Bay.

About 7pm on Thursday (12 September 2019), a 49-year-old man returned to his unit on South Street, when he was stabbed in the driveway with an unknown weapon.

He was treated for three stab wounds to his abdomen and back at Batemans Bay Hospital, before being transported to Canberra Hospital for surgery.

Officers from South Coast Police District commenced inquiries.

About 6.40pm today (Saturday 14 September 2019), officers attended an address on Old Princes Highway, Batemans Bay, and arrested a 51-year-old man, who is the neighbour of the victim.

He was taken to Batemans Bay Police Station and charged with grievous bodily harm with intent and recklessly cause grievous bodily harm.

He was refused bail to appear at Batemans Bay Local Court tomorrow (Sunday 15 September 2019).
