NSW police charge man over two break and enter offences at Wellington

A man will appear in court today charged over two separate break and enters in the state’s Central West.

About 10pm on Wednesday 13 October 2021, an unknown person forced entry into a home on Pierce Street, Wellington, and stole several items.

The sole occupant – a 77-year-old woman – was not injured during the incident.

In a separate incident, police were notified after a home at Simpson Street, Wellington, was broken into on Tuesday 9 November 2021, and a number of items stolen.

The occupants were not home at the time.

Both incidents were reported to officers from Orana Mid-Western Police District who commenced investigations.

Following extensive inquiries, police arrested a 40-year-old man at a home at Wellington about 8.45pm yesterday (Tuesday 16 November 2021).

He was taken to Wellington Police Station and charged with aggravated break and steal, as well as break, enter and steal.

The man was bail refused and is due to appear at Dubbo Local Court today (Wednesday 17 November 2021).
