NSW police charge man with affray after Wattle Grove stabbing

A second man has been charged following an investigation into an alleged stabbing in Sydney’s south-west last month.

About 11.30pm on Friday 25 October 2019, emergency services were called to Conroy Road, Wattle Grove, following reports of a brawl.

Officers attached to Liverpool City Police Area Command arrived a short time later, but the group had dispersed.

A 24-year-old man was located at the scene and treated by NSW Ambulance paramedics for stab wounds before being taken to hospital for treatment.

A crime scene was established and examined by specialist forensic officers, while local detectives commenced an investigation.

A 21-year-old Guildford man was charged on Tuesday 29 October 2019 and remains before the courts.

Following further inquiries, a 20-year-old man was arrested at Liverpool Police Station about 5.30pm yesterday (Thursday 14 November 2019).

The Smithfield man was charged with affray.

He was granted strict conditional bail and is due to appear at Liverpool Local Court on Wednesday 27 November 2019.
