NSW police charge man with attempted murder at Gunnedah

A man has been charged with attempted murder after he allegedly discharged a firearm in public in Gunnedah, in the state’s north.

About 11.10pm on Thursday 17 October 2019, a man allegedly pointed a firearm out of his vehicle, which was parked on Phillip Street, Carroll, at a man sitting in another vehicle parked a short distance away and fired his weapon.

There were no injuries as a result of the shooting.

About midday yesterday (Friday 18 October 2019), police attended a residence on Clifton Road, Piallaway and arrested a 38-year-old man.

He was taken to Gunnedah Police Station where he was charged with shoot at with intent to murder.

He was refused bail to appear at Tamworth Local Court today (Saturday 19 October 2019).
