NSW police charge man with commercial drug supply

A man will face court today after allegedly being found in possession of a commercial quantity of cocaine on the Hume Highway near Yass.

Shortly after 4pm yesterday (Thursday 26 February 2020), a grey coloured Toyota Hilux with South Australian registration plates was allegedly detected travelling more than 50km over the speed limit in Bookham, near Yass.

The ute was stopped by officers from the Traffic and Highway Patrol Command and the driver allegedly tested positive to a roadside drug test.

Officers from The Hume Police District attended and searched the vehicle; where cannabis, cash and two bags of cocaine were located and seized.

The street value of drugs seized exceeds $300,000.

The 26-year-old man was arrested and taken to Yass Police Station, where he was charged with supply prohibited drug (commercial quantity), possess prohibited drug and traffic offences.

He was refused bail and is due to appear before Goulburn Local Court today (Friday 28 February 2020).
