NSW police charge man with drug and weapon offences at Tweed Heads

A man will appear in court later this month after he was allegedly found in possession of drugs and an electronic stun device in the state’s north yesterday.

About 12pm on Wednesday (3 November 2021), officers attached to Tweed/Byron Police District stopped a white Holden Commodore after observing the vehicle cross a medium strip on Wharf Street, Tweed Heads.

Police spoke to the driver, a 25-year-old man, before searching the vehicle where they allegedly located MDMA, Cocaine, Cannabis, over $3,100 in cash, and an electronic stun device disguised as a torch.

The man was arrested and taken to Tweed Heads Police Station where he was charged with supply prohibited drug, possess or use a prohibited weapon without permit, two counts of possess prohibited drug (x2), and recklessly deal with proceeds of crime.

The man was granted conditional bail and will appear at Tweed Heads Local Court on 29 November 2021.
