NSW police charge man with drug supply at Bankstown

A man will appear in Court later today after being charged as part of an investigation into alleged drug supply in Sydney’s southwest.

In May 2020, Strike Force Polar was established by Bankstown Police Area Command to investigate mid-level crime, including the the supply of prohibited drugs in the Bankstown area.

Following extensive inquiries, strike force detectives arrested the 26-yearold man at Yagoona about 4.00pm yesterday (Thursday 16 July 2020).

Investigators then conducted a search warrant at a unit in Rookwood Road, Yagoona.

During the search, police seized a quantity of GBL, cannabis, ice, precursor chemicals and fentanyl.

The man was taken to Bankstown Police Station where he was charged with supplying an indictable quantity of prohibited drug, supplying a small quantity of prohibited drug, possess prohibited drug (4 counts) and traffic matters.

The man was refused bail and is due to appear before Bankstown Local court today.

A 26-year-old woman was also charged with possess prohibited drug; she was granted conditional bail on Wednesday 5 August 2020.

Inquiries are continuing.
