NSW police charge man with drug supply at Wollongong 14 May

Police have charged a man over the alleged supply of prohibited drugs in Wollongong and Lake Illawarra areas.

Officers attached to the Regional Enforcement Squad’s High Visibility Police Unit stopped a 35-year-old man on Coolabah Road, Dapto, just after 2pm yesterday (Thursday 13 May 2021).

Officers spoke to the driver, who was allegedly found in possession of a crystal substance police believe to be methylamphetamine.

A search of the vehicle allegedly revealed more than 18g of methamphetamine, as well as a mobile phone police allege contained messages about the supply of prohibited drugs.

The driver was arrested and taken to Lake Illawarra Police Station, where he was charged with supply prohibited drug and possess prohibited drug.

He was refused bail to appear at Wollongong Local Court today (Friday 14 May 2021).
