NSW police charge man with high-range PCA after crash with child in car at Ryde

A man has been charged with high-range PCA after he allegedly hit a parked vehicle while driving with a child in his car in Ryde yesterday.

About 10.15am (Wednesday 19 October 2022), officers from Ryde Traffic and Highway Patrol Command were called to Argyle Avenue following reports a vehicle was travelling south when, at the intersection of Princes Street, it hit a parked vehicle.

The driver – a 31-year-old man – and his passenger – a seven-year-old girl – were uninjured during the incident.

The man was subjected to a roadside breath test, which returned a positive result.

He was arrested and taken to Ryde Police Station, where he underwent a secondary breath analysis, which returned an alleged reading of 0.182.

The man was issued a Court Attendance Notice for one count of drive with high range PCA and his driver’s licence was suspended.

He will appear at Hornsby Local Court on Thursday 24 November 2022.
