NSW police charge man with manslaughter after death of woman at Wagga Wagga

A man has been charged following the death of a woman in the Riverina at the weekend.

About 8am on Saturday (21 September 2019), police and emergency services were called to assist an unresponsive woman a home unit on Tarcutta Street, Wagga Wagga.

NSW Ambulance paramedics conducted CPR and stabilised the 25-year-old woman before taking her to Wagga Wagga Base Hospital.

Despite the efforts of hospital staff, the woman died shortly after 10am on Sunday (22 September 2019).

Detectives from Riverina Police District are investigating the circumstances surrounding her death under Strike Force Lamson.

Following inquiries, a 31-year-old man was arrested at Wagga Wagga Police Station on Sunday afternoon (22 September 2019).

He was charged with manslaughter and granted strict conditional bail to appear at Wagga Wagga Local Court on Wednesday 6 November 2019.
