NSW police charge man with mid-range PCA after crash at Holroyd

A man has been charged following a crash in Sydney’s west overnight.

About 11.40pm (Wednesday 21 April 2021), emergency services were called to Brickworks Drive, Holroyd, following reports a grey Honda Accord had hit a parked white Toyota Hilux, which caused extensive damage to both vehicles.

A black Kia Rio and a gold Honda Civic were also damaged.

Officers from Cumberland Police Area Command attended a short time later.

The 21-year-old male driver of the Honda was subject to a roadside breath test which returned a positive result.

He was arrested and taken to Merrylands Police Station for a breath analysis, which allegedly returned a reading of 0.088.

The Padstow man was charged with mid-range drink driving and his licence was suspended.

He was issued with a Court Attendance Notice to appear at Fairfield Local Court on Tuesday 1 June 2021.

A 22-year-old male passenger of the vehicle was treated by NSW Ambulance paramedics for minor facial lacerations, before he was taken to Westmead Hospital.

A 21-year-old female passenger for the vehicle was taken to Westmead Hospital for treatment on a lower back injury.

A 21-year-old male passenger of the vehicle was not injured.

A crime scene has been established as inquiries continue into the circumstances surrounding the crash.
