NSW police charge man with murder

Detectives investigating the stabbing death of a man on the Central Coast last Sunday have charged a man with murder.

Emergency services were called to a home on Slim Close, Watanobbi, about 11.30pm (Sunday 26 October 2020), where a 26-year-old man was found with stab wounds to his chest and face.

He was treated at the scene by NSW Ambulance paramedics before he was taken in a critical condition to John Hunter Hospital, where he later died.

A crime scene was established and an investigation into the man’s death was launched by officers from Tuggerah Lakes Police District, assisted by the State Crime Command’s Homicide Squad.

Following inquiries, detectives executed a search warrant at a house in Minnamurra Road, Gorokan about 6.40pm on Wednesday 28 October 2020.

Officers arrested a 28-year-old man at the premises. The man was later taken to Wyong Police Station.

The man was charged with murder and was refused bail. He will appear before Wyong Local Court tomorrow (Thursday 29 October 2020).
