NSW police charge man with stabbing at Eden

A man has been charged following a stabbing in Eden overnight.

About 7pm (Monday 3 August 2020), two men – who are known to each other – began arguing at a home on Hopkins Street, Eden.

It’s alleged that the argument escalated to a physical confrontation, before the 35-year-old man stabbed the 64-year-old man in the stomach with a kitchen knife.

The older man was taken by ambulance to South East Regional Hospital at Bega, before being flown to a hospital in Canberra, where he remains in a critical but stable condition.

The younger man was arrested at the home and taken to Eden Police Station, where he was charged with reckless wounding.

He was refused bail and is due to face Batemans Bay Local Court today (Tuesday 4 August 2020).
