NSW police charge pair after firearm seized at Parramatta

Two men have been charged with multiple firearms offences as part of an ongoing investigation by Strike Force Raptor investigators.

About 5.20pm yesterday (Wednesday 13 May 2020), strike force detectives spoke with two men, aged 34 and 25, on Church Street, Parramatta, in relation to a Firearms Prohibition Order (FPO).

Following inquiries, officers executed a crime scene warrant at a hotel on the same street a short time later.

Police located and seized cash, a semi-automatic pistol and a substance believed to be cocaine, which will be subject to forensic examination.

The men were arrested and taken to Parramatta Police Station, where both men were charged with acquire firearm subject to FPO, possess pistol, not keep firearm safe and acquire ammunition subject to FPO.

The pair was refused bail to appear at Parramatta Local Court today (Thursday 14 May 2020).

Investigations under Strike Force Raptor are continuing.
