NSW police charge six after brawl; stabbing

Six teenagers have been charged following an alleged car park brawl at a shopping centre in Sydney’s west.

Shortly before 3pm (Thursday 25 February 2020), emergency services were called to the car park on Carlise Avenue, Mt Druitt following reports of a brawl.

On arrival, police found a 20-year-old man suffering facial injuries and a number of stab wounds.

He was treated at the scene by NSW Ambulance paramedics before being taken to Westmead Hospital where he remains in a stable condition.

Another man – aged 22 – also sustained minor cuts to his neck. He was treated at the scene.

Officers from Mt Druitt Police Area Command attended and established a crime scene.

Four teenagers – aged 16, 16, 16, and 17 – were arrested and taken to Mt Druitt Police Station.

The three 16-year-olds were charged with reckless grievous bodily harm – in company and affray.

The 17-year-old boy was charged with cause grievous bodily harm to person with intent and affray.

About 9pm yesterday (Thursday 25 February 2021) a 16-year-old and 17-year-old boy were arrested at Mt Druitt Police Station.

The 16-year-old was charged with reckless grievous bodily harm – in company and affray.

The 17-year-old was charged with wound person with intent to cause grievous bodily harm and affray.

All six were refused bail to appear at a children’s court today (Friday 26 February 2021).
