NSW police charge teens after pursuit

Three teens have been charged following yesterday’s police pursuit in Sydney’s south-west.

The charges relate to an alleged break and enter on a home in West Hoxton about 3am yesterday (Wednesday 23 November 2022), in which an Audi Q7 was stolen.

Two further incidents occurred between 4.40am and 5am at two separate addresses in Denham Court, where residents were allegedly threatened by a number of people armed with a firearm. The SUV drove from the scene in each time.

About 5am, a 22-year-old woman was in her VW Golf on Macksville Street, Hoxton Park, when she was allegedly threatened by two people armed with a firearm and a knife who stole her car. The woman was not injured.

Police were alerted and were patrolling the area when the stolen SUV was sighted on Hoxton Park Road about 8am and a pursuit was initiated. Police will allege the driver of the SUV allegedly reversed into the front of a fully-marked police vehicle at Heckenberg, causing minor injuries to a male sergeant.

The SUV left the scene and the pursuit was terminated for safety reasons before it was recovered in St Johns Park. A search began assisted by PolAir and the Dog Unit and three boys – aged 13, 14 and 17 – were arrested at Chisholm Park.

They were taken to Liverpool Police Station where they have each been charged with,

• Aggravated break and enter with intent knowing person there
