NSW police charge teens after spate of break-ins at Werris Creek

Two teenage boys will appear in court today charged over a spate of break-ins at businesses in the state’s north.

Officers attached to Oxley Police District commenced an investigation after a number of businesses were allegedly broken into at Werris Creek between Monday (17 January 2022) and yesterday (Thursday 20 January 2022), with food and cash reportedly stolen.

Following inquiries, officers attended a home at Werris Creek about 10.30pm yesterday (Thursday 20 January 2022) and arrested two boys – aged 14 and 15.

The teens were both taken to Tamworth Police Station, where the younger boy was charged with two counts of break and enter house steal and two counts of break and enter house destroy property.

The older boy was charged with three counts of break and enter house steal and break and enter house destroy property.

Both teens were refused bail and are due to appear at a children’s court today (Friday 21 January 2022).
