NSW police charge teens over armed robbery

Two teenaged boys have been charged over an alleged armed robbery of a convenience store in Bondi Junction earlier this week.

Officers attached to Eastern Suburbs Police Area Command have been investigating the robbery of the store on Oxford Street just before 3am (Wednesday 17 June 2020),

Police were told two people entered the store and threatened the attendant with weapons. They left with cash and an investigation was initiated.

About 9.55am yesterday (Friday 19 June 2020), two teenaged boys were stopped and searched in Bondi Junction, and police will allege a 15-year-old boy was found to have a bread knife in his possession.

Following further inquiries, a kitchen knife was found when a home unit on Edgecliff Road, at Edgecliff, was searched. Both have been taken for further examination.

The boys were taken to Waverley Police Station and were charged.

• The 15-year-old boy has been charged with robbery in company, and possession of a prohibited drug.

• The 16-year-old boy has been charged with robbery in company.

They’ve been refused bail to appear in a Children’s Court later today (Saturday 20 June 2020).
