NSW police charge three men after investigation into dial-a-dealer drug syndicate

Three men have been charged – including a key member of an organised criminal network who will face court today – following an investigation into an alleged dial-a-dealer drug syndicate in Sydney’s south-west.

In April 2021, detectives from Cumberland Police Area Command established Strike Force Dolci to investigate the supply of prohibited drugs in Sydney’s south-west.

During the investigation, detectives uncovered a dial-a-dealer drug syndicate, which was suspected to be connected to an organised criminal network.

As part of inquiries, Strike Force Dolci detectives arrested and charged a 22-year-old man over his alleged role in the syndicate late last year. He is next due to appear at Fairfield Local Court on Monday (7 February 2022).

Following extensive inquiries, strike force detectives, assisted by South West Metropolitan Region Operations Support Group (OSG), executed a search warrant at a house at Merrylands, just after 8am on Wednesday (2 February 2022).

During the search, officers located and seized three mobile phones, clothing, and cocaine and cannabis.

A 20-year-old man was arrested at the location and taken to Granville Police Station, where he was charged with two counts supply prohibited drugs on an ongoing basis, knowingly derive material benefit from criminal group, participate criminal group contribute criminal activity, two counts supply prohibited drug, and two counts possess prohibited drug.

He was refused bail and appeared at Fairfield Local Court, where he was formally refused bail to next appear at the same court on Monday (7 February 2022).

Following further investigations, Strike Force Dolci detectives executed a search warrant at a home at Merrylands about 8.10am yesterday (Friday 4 February 2022), where they seized four mobile phones, clothing, prescription drugs, scales, cocaine and bottles suspected to contain Gamma Butyrolactone (GBL).

About 10.50am, detectives attended a unit at Yagoona, and located a man allegedly hiding in the roof cavity.

The man was arrested and taken to Granville Police Station, where he was charged with large commercial drug supply, supply prohibited drug on an ongoing basis, knowingly direct activities of criminal group, and knowingly derive material benefit from criminal group.

Police will allege in court that the man was directing the activities of the drug supply network.

The 30-year-old Merrylands man was refused bail to appear at Parramatta Bail Court today (Saturday 5 February 2022).

Investigations under Strike Force Dolci are continuing.
