NSW police charge three over Chippendale stabbing

Three people are due in court today charged over the alleged stabbing of a man at Chippendale.

Emergency services were called to Shepherd Street shortly after midnight (Saturday 4 January 2020), and found a 29-year-old man with stab wounds to his head, arm and hip, as well as a fractured leg.

Officers from ODIN provided first aid to the man before he was taken by ambulance to Royal Prince Alfred Hospital in a serious condition.

Officers attached to the Public Order and Riot Squad (PORS) searched nearby unit blocks and arrested two men, aged 22 and 24, and a 55-year-old woman.

The older man was taken to Newtown Police Station while the others were taken to Mascot Police Station. All three have now been charged;

• The 22-year-old man has been charged with cause wounding/grievous bodily harm to person with intent to murder,

• The 24-year-old man has been charged with wound person with intent to cause grievous bodily harm (accessory after the fact), and,

• The 55-year-old woman has been charged with cause wounding/grievous bodily harm to person with intent to murder (accessory after the fact).

All were refused bail to appear in Parramatta Bail Court today (Sunday 5 January 2020).

The injured man has undergone surgery and is described as being in a serious but stable condition.
