NSW police charge three over inner west home invasion

Three people – including two men and a woman – have been charged with armed robbery and break and enter offences following an extensive investigation in Sydney’s inner west.

Strike Force Cincotta was established by detectives attached to Inner West Police Area Command in February 2022, following a number of home invasions and robberies in the area.

Following extensive inquiries and a public appeal, detectives executed a search warrant at a premises in Rookwood Road Yagoona, about 7.30am (Thursday 19 May 2022).

The occupant, a 25-year-old man was arrested and taken to Bankstown Police Station. He was charged with robbery armed with offensive weapon cause wounding/grievous bodily harm, special aggravated enter dwelling with intent to inflict grievous bodily harm and supply prohibited drugs.

The man was refused bail to appear before Bankstown Local Court today (Friday 20 May 2022).

Detectives executed a further search warrant at a premises on Canterbury Road, Canterbury, about 11.20am.

The occupants – a 26-year-old man and 21-year-old woman – were arrested and taken to Newtown Police Station. They were charged with robbery armed with offensive weapon cause wounding/grievous bodily harm and special aggravated enter dwelling with intent to inflict grievous bodily harm.

The pair were refused bail to appear before Newtown Local Court today.
