NSW police charge three over stabbing murder

Three men have been charged with murder following investigations into a fatal stabbing in Sydney’s south west at the weekend.

Emergency services were called to a unit on William Street, Condell Park, about 2.45am on Saturday 7 December 2019, after reports a 29-year-old man had been stabbed multiple times.

He was treated by NSW Ambulance paramedics, however, he died at the scene.

A 59-year-old woman was also treated for minor injuries.

Detectives from the State Crime Command’s Homicide Squad and Bankstown Police Area Command commenced an investigation.

As a result of inquiries, detectives from the Robbery and Serious Crime Squad took carriage of the investigation under Strike Force Browallia.

Following extensive investigations, strike force detectives, assisted by the Public Order and Riot Squad, executed a search warrant at a unit on Coward Street, Mascot, about 11pm yesterday (Monday 9 December 2019).

A 27-year-old man was arrested and taken to Maroubra Police Station.

Shortly after, detectives, assisted by South West Metropolitan Region Enforcement Squad, arrested a 29-year-old man at a home on Angus Street, Auburn.

A third man – aged 35 – was arrested at Maroubra Police Station about 11.30pm the same day.

They were all charged with murder.

The 27-year-old man and 35-year-old man were also charged with robbery armed with offensive weapon, and assault with intent to rob armed with offensive weapon.

Police will allege in court that both men forced entry to the Condell Park unit, before stabbing the 29-year-old man and assaulting the woman.

The 27-year-old man was refused bail to appear at Waverley Local Court today (Tuesday 10 December 2019).

The 35-year-old man was remanded in custody to appear at Waverley Local Court today.

The 29-year-old man was refused bail to appear at Burwood Local Court today.

Investigations are continuing.
