NSW police charge three with drug supply during music festival operation

Police have charged three people with drug supply after a music festival at Sydney Olympic Park.

Officers from South West Metropolitan Region, with assistance from Licensing Police and the Dog Unit, conducted a high-visibility operation at the Hidden music festival at Sydney Showground yesterday (Saturday 2 March 2019).

During the event, which attracted a crowd of more than 2,500 people, 165 people were searched.

Of note, two men and a woman were charged with drug supply.

A 20-year-old Oakhurst man was allegedly found with 10 MDMA capsules and a 20-year-old West Wallsend woman was allegedly found with 12 MDMA capsules.

They were both charged with supply prohibited drug.

An 18-year-old Berowra man was also charged with supply prohibited drug and possess prohibited drug after allegedly being found with a substance, believed to be methamphetamine, and four MDMA capsules.

All three were granted conditional bail to appear at Burwood Local Court on Wednesday 27 March 2019.

A further 24 people were charged with drug possession, of which five were issued as Criminal Infringement Notices.

Nine people were issued cannabis cautions and four people were issued Future Court Attendance Notices for trespass and re-enter licensed premises.
