NSW police charge two after pursuit with BMW at Botany

A man and woman will appear in court today following the pursuit of a BMW in Sydney’s east yesterday.

Just after 1.30pm, (Friday 9 April 2021), officers from the South Sydney Police Area Command attempted to pull over a BMW travelling on Wentworth Road, Pagewood, for a random breath test.

The vehicle failed to stop, and a short pursuit was initiated before the BMW was pulled over on Stephen Street at Botany and the driver was arrested.

The driver, a 41-year-old man, along with his 42-year-old female passenger, were taken to Mascot Police Station.

He was charged with police pursuit – not stop – drive recklessly (x2), drive manner dangerous (x2), larceny (x2), and driver fail to disclose his identity.

She was charged with shoplifting and larceny (x2) in relation to unrelated matters.

They were both refused bail and are expected to appear in Parramatta Local Court today (Saturday 10 April 2021).
