NSW police charge two teens over robbery at Doonside

Two teenage boys will appear in court today charged over the alleged robbery of another teen in Sydney’s west overnight.

About 10.30pm (Tuesday 4 January 2022), a 17-year-old boy was sitting outside Doonside Railway Station, when two unknown boys approached him.

They allegedly demanded the teenager’s personal items, before punching him, producing a large knife and threatening him.

The pair stole his mobile phone and headphones and fled the scene on foot.

Officers from Blacktown Police Area Command were notified, attended the scene and commenced inquiries into the incident.

A short time later, two boys – aged 15 and 16 – were located on Eastern Road at Blacktown.

They were arrested and taken to Blacktown Police Station, where they were each charged with aggravated robbery and inflict actual bodily harm.

The older boy was also charged with custody of a knife in a public place.

Both boys were refused bail and will appear at a children’s court today (Wednesday 5 January 2022).

The injured teen received treatment for lacerations and bruising to his face.
