NSW police charge two with motorbike theft at Dapto

Two men have been charged and ten motorbikes believed to be stolen recovered following search warrants in Dapto this week.

About 11.45am yesterday (Tuesday 19 November 2019), officers attached to the Lake Illawarra Police District Anti-Theft Unit executed a search warrant at a home on Kapooka Crescent, Dapto.

Officers located six motorbikes, a motorbike trailer, equipment and a chainsaw that were reported stolen from a Pheasants Nest home earlier this week (Saturday 16 November 2019).

A 30-year-old man was arrested at Lake Illawarra Police Station earlier today (Wednesday 20 November 2019) and has been charged with eight counts of goods in custody and receiving stolen property.

The man was granted conditional bail and is due to face Port Kembla Local Court on 15 January 2019.

Earlier this week (Monday 18 November 2019) police attended a home on Turnbull Avenue, Avondale.

Officers located four motorbikes believed to be stolen in a shed to the rear of the property.

Three of the motorbikes had been reported as stolen from a business on Kenny Street, Wollongong on 10 November 2019.

A 22-year-old man was arrested and taken to Lake Illawarra Police Station, where he was charged with four counts of goods in custody.

The man was granted conditional bail and is due to face Wollongong Local Court on 10 December 2019.
