A woman has been charged following an investigation into the alleged abuse of an elderly man at Cooma on the weekend.
An 89-year-old man – who was a resident in an aged-care facility – was in his wheelchair shortly after 3.30pm on Saturday (13 July 2019), when he was allegedly assaulted by a 61-year old female employee.
The matter was reported to police and an investigation commenced, resulting in the arrest of a Cooma woman yesterday afternoon (Tuesday 16 July 2019).
She was taken to Cooma Police Station and has been charged with one count of assault occasioning actual bodily harm, and five counts of assault.
She has been granted conditional bail and is due to face Cooma Local Court on 7 August 2019.
