NSW police charge woman with shoplifting offences

A woman has been charged with multiple shoplifting offences allegedly to have occurred across the state’s Central West.

On Sunday 30 June 2019, it is alleged a 29-year-old woman entered a supermarket on Peisley Street at Orange and attempted to steal several items.

It is alleged the woman struck a male staff member when confronted and ran from the scene.

About 3.30pm Wednesday 31 July 2019, it is alleged the woman attended a business at a Dubbo shopping complex and stole items of clothing.

A search warrant was executed at a Gilbert Street home in Dubbo yesterday (Tuesday 6 August 2019) following investigations by Orana Mid Western Target Action Group.

Various items of clothing, believed to be proceeds of crime, were seized.

About 2pm yesterday (Tuesday 6 August 2019), the woman was arrested at a shopping complex in Dubbo’s CBD and was taken to Dubbo Police Station.

She was charged with shoplifting (x2) and common assault.

The woman was bail refused and will appear before Dubbo Local Court today (Wednesday 7 August 2019).
