NSW police investigate armed robbery at Bankstown

Police are investigating an armed robbery in a Bankstown carpark last night.

About 7.15pm (Friday 9 August 2019), two men, aged 22 and 18, were in a vehicle parked in a carpark on Ross Street.

The 22-year-old man was outside the vehicle on the phone when he was approached by five unknown males, wielding knives and a bat.

The males threatened the pair, took their phones and wallets, and ran away in a westerly direction through nearby gardens.

Police were notified who attended, and a crime scene was established by officers attached to Bankstown Police Area Command.

Investigators are now appealing for information for anyone who may have been in the area at the time of the incident and seen five males, only described as being of Pacific Islander/Maori appearance, aged in their 20s, and wearing black hooded jumpers and face coverings.
