NSW police investigate armed robbery at Greystanes

Police are appealing for information after an employee was injured during an armed robbery in Sydney’s west earlier today.

About 6am (Friday 5 March 2021), emergency services were called to a bakery at a shopping centre on Merrylands Road, Greystanes, following reports of an armed robbery.

Police have been told four men, armed with a pick and a knife, entered the store threatening staff before stealing the cash register.

An employee suffered a wound to his forearm during the incident.

The men fled, last seen travelling westbound on Merrylands Road, in a black BMW M4 with no registration plates.

The employee treated by NSW Ambulance paramedics and was taken to Westmead Hospital for surgery.

Officers from Cumberland Police Area Command established a crime scene and commenced an investigation into the circumstances surrounding the incident.
