NSW police investigate stabbing at Shoalhaven

Officers from South Coast Police District are investigating the circumstances surrounding a stabbing in Woollamia yesterday.

About 12.45pm yesterday (Wednesday 4 July 2019), a 29-year-old man was called to quote for a gardening job at a property on Fairfax Road, Woollamia.

As the man attended the property, which he believed to be vacant, he was attacked by three masked men armed with metal pipes and bars.

The man was struck to his head and body and sustained stab wounds to his right thigh and lacerations to his head.

After a short time, the three masked men left the premises and the 29-year-old man contacted emergency services, who met him at his home.

He was treated by NSW Ambulance paramedics before being taken to Shoalhaven Hospital for treatment. The man’s injuries are not life threatening and he is expected to make a full recovery.

A crime scene was established at the property where the incident occurred. The owners of the property have confirmed to police they had not organised or requested maintenance of their property.

Police inquiries are continuing.
