NSW police investigate suspicious house fire at Parkes

Police are appealing for information from the community after a home was destroyed by fire in the state’s Central West last week.

About 11.50pm last Wednesday (19 February 2020), police and emergency services responded to reports of a house fire on Parkesborough Road, Parkes.

The blaze was extinguished by NSW Rural Fire Service and Fire and Rescue NSW; however; the house was destroyed.

The home was vacant at the time and no injuries were reported.

Officers from Central West Police District established a crime scene, which was examined by specialist forensic officers.

Initial inquiries indicate the fire was deliberately lit.

As investigations continue, police are urging anyone who noticed suspicious activity in the area that evening to come forward.
