NSW police investigating after serious crash at Eastern Creek

A man has been arrested after a van he was allegedly driving collided with another vehicle during a pursuit in Sydney’s west today.

Just before 11am (Wednesday 24 July 2019), officers from Mt Druitt Police Area Command attempted to stop a Toyota HiAce, which had stolen plates, on the Carlisle Avenue, Mt Druitt.

The driver failed to stop, and a police pursuit was initiated.

As the vehicle travelled along the Great Western Highway and approached the M7 off-ramp at Eastern Creek, it collided with a Subaru Outback.

The 45-year-old female driver of the Outback was trapped in her vehicle for a short time before being freed by Fire and Rescue NSW.

She was taken by NSW Ambulance paramedics to Westmead Hospital for treatment to pelvic injuries and shock. She is believed to be in a stable condition.

The occupants of the HiAce – a 24-year-old male driver and a 24-year-old female passenger – were also taken to Westmead Hospital.

The man is undergoing treatment for a dislocated collar bone. He is currently under police guard.

The woman is being treated for facial injuries, and a dislocated collar bone and hip.

An investigation is underway.
