Police are appealing for information following a suspicious fire at a church in the state’s south.
Shortly after 3pm on Monday 17 August 2020, passing motorists on the Bowna Road, Mullengandra, noticed smoke coming from a nearby church.
NSW Rural Fire Service extinguished the blaze, which took hold of the front of the building and appeared to be lit through a glass window.
Officers from Murray River Police District attended and commenced inquiries into the circumstances surrounding the fire.
As inquiries continue, detectives are appealing for anyone who may have seen a black Jeep Grand Cherokee in the area around the time of the fire, particularly in the Clancy Road area, as the driver of the vehicle may be able to assist with inquiries.
Investigations are continuing.
