NSW police launch investigation into suspicious house fire near Wagga Wagga

Police are investigating after a house was destroyed by fire in the state’s Riverina earlier today.

About 12.45am (Monday 27July 2020), officers from Riverina Police District were called to a home on Menangle Street, Ganmain, about 60km north west of Wagga Wagga, following reports of a fire.

NSW Fire and Rescue attended and extinguished the blaze.

The house was unoccupied at the time.

At this stage the cause of the fire is unknown; however, it is being treated as suspicious.

Police have been told two teenage boys were seen running from the scene at the time of the blaze.

As investigations continue, police are appealing for anyone with information to come forward.
