NSW police responding to fatal single-vehicle crash at Murrumbidgee

A man has died following a single-vehicle crash in the Murrumbidgee region today.

About 4.15am (Tuesday 29 March 2022), a truck driver was travelling south along the Kidman Highway, just south of Hillston, and observed a Subaru Outback on the side of the road.

The truck driver contacted emergency services and upon arrival, they located the body of a man about 20 metres from the vehicle.

While he is yet to be formally identified, he is believed to be the driver and the sole occupant.

Officers attached to Murrumbidgee Police District established a crime scene and commenced inquiries into the circumstances surrounding the crash.

As inquiries continue, police urge any witnesses – including motorists with dashcam vision – to come forward and contact Griffith Police on (02) 6969 4299 or Crime Stoppers on 1800 333 000.

A report will now be prepared for the information of the Coroner.
