NSW police responding to fatal single-vehicle crash at New England Highway

A woman has died following a single-vehicle crash in the state’s north east today.

About 9.35am (Wednesday 18 May 2022), emergency services were called to the New England Highway, Nemingha, about 8kms east of Tamworth, following reports of a single-vehicle crash.

Upon arrival, officers attached to Oxley Police District found a blue sedan had crashed into a tree.

The driver – a 89-year-old woman – died at the scene.

Officers established a crime scene and have commenced an investigation into the circumstances surrounding the crash.

A report will be prepared for the information of the Coroner.
