NSW police seek information after car destroyed by fire at Bathurst

Police are appealing for information after a vehicle was destroyed by fire in the state’s Central Tablelands.

About 3.38am today (Tuesday 3 September 2019), emergency services attended a home on Rocket Street at Bathurst following reports of a vehicle fire.

Fire and Rescue NSW extinguished the fire however the vehicle was destroyed. A portable gazebo was also destroyed, and the main dwelling obtained minor smoke and heat damage.

Officers attached to Chifley Police District established a crime scene and commenced an investigation into the matter.

CCTV footage obtained from the area reveals an unknown person running west towards Cummings Street at the time of the incident. It is believed the person could have burns to the hands and arms.
