NSW police seek information after police pursuit at Narromine

Police are appealing for information following a pursuit in the state’s Orana region at the weekend.

About 8.30pm yesterday (Sunday 15 November 2020), officers attached to Orana Mid Western Police District were patrolling the Narromine township when they observed a Proton sedan turn harshly into Algalah Street.

Police attempted to stop the vehicle on Meryula Street; however, it accelerated away.

Police initiated a pursuit on the Mitchell Highway, travelling towards Dubbo before turning into Tantitha Road. It is alleged the vehicle travelled at speeds of up to 130km/h in the signposted 110km/h zone,

The pursuit travelled along Pinedene Road for approximately 2km, where the vehicle stopped, and the male driver was seen running into a nearby paddock.

The Police Dog Unit was deployed and commenced tracking the man, however he was unable to be located.

The vehicle was towed to Dubbo Police Station where it will undergo forensic examination.

Investigations continue.
