NSW police seek woman after child approach

Police are seeking a woman believed to have assisted a girl after a child was approached on the Central Coast last week.

About 2.25pm on Friday (15 March 2019), a 12-year-old girl was walking on Elizabeth Bay Drive, Lake Munmorah, when a vehicle pulled up alongside her.

The male driver spoke to the girl, before inviting her into the vehicle.

The girl refused at which time a woman approached, and the man drove away.

Officers from Tuggerah Lakes Police District are investigating and would like to speak to the woman, described only as having blonde hair and walking a dog.

Detectives are continuing to appeal for anyone with information about the vehicle and male driver to come forward.

The vehicle is described as a white SUV with black and white number plates starting with ‘C’, with damage to the front left-hand side and mirror.

The man is described as having a long grey beard, grey hair on the side and back, and wearing a black and white striped shirt, a grey cardigan and blue shorts.

Anyone with information about this incident is urged to contact Crime Stoppers: 1800 333 000 or https://nsw.crimestoppers.com.au. Information is treated in strict confidence.
