Police have seized a cache of weapons, including three assault rifles and almost 1500 rounds of ammunition, during an operation targeting gun crimes in western Sydney.
Acting on a tip-off to police, officers from Operation Talon, assisted by Strike Force Raptor, travelled to a location in the Blacktown area and uncovered a cache of firearms, connected to an Outlaw Motorcycle Gang (OMCG).
Police seized a Colt AR 15 .223 assault rifle; two SKS .762 assault rifles; a sawn-off .22 Ruger rifle and suppressor; a Bentley 12-gauge shotgun; a Beretta 9mm pistol; a Glock 19 9mm pistol; a Viking 9mm pistol; a number of magazines and 1480 rounds of ammunition.
The weapons are undergoing ballistics and forensic analysis.
Investigations are continuing.
