NSW police uncover ‘Aladdin’s Cave’ of suspected stolen property at Broken Hill

Police are appealing for victims of theft to come forward after an ‘Aladdin’s Cave’ of property suspected stolen was uncovered during a search warrant in the state’s far west.

Following investigations into drug supply, officers attached to Barrier Police District executed a search warrant at a home on Chapple Lane at Broken Hill about 2.40pm on Friday (13 December 2019).

A search of the home uncovered various property suspected stolen, including power tools, building supplies, electrical items and jewellery.

Police also located prohibited weapons and articles including an electric stun device and knuckle dusters, as well as prescription medication, cannabis and cash.

Officers seized the large volume of property suspected stolen which will be reviewed in an effort to identify owners.

Officers from Barrier Police District continue to investigate the origin of the suspected stolen property.
