NSW police update: Four in court today on drug supply charges after Parramatta music festival

Police have charged 10 people with drug supply after a Parramatta music festival yesterday.

Officers from Parramatta Police Area Command, with assistance from various police from the North West Metropolitan area, along with the Dog Unit, established a high-visibility operation at Ultra Music Festival, held at Parramatta Park on Sunday 24 February 2019.

During the event, which attracted over 20,500 people, 395 people were searched, with 98 drug detections made during the operation for cannabis, cocaine, and MDMA.

Twenty-nine people were issued Criminal Infringement Notices, 28 for possession of MDMA, and one for cocaine, along with 13 cannabis cautions.

Forty-five charges were laid, including 10 for supply prohibited drug; four people have been refused bail overnight and are in court today.

• A 22-year- old Lidcombe man was charged with supply prohibited drug, deal with proceeds of crime, two counts of possess prohibited drug and goods in custody. He was refused bail to appear at Burwood Local Court today (Monday 25 February 2019).

• A 21-year-old Canley Heights man was charged with two counts of supply prohibited drug. He was refused bail to appear at Parramatta Local Court today (Monday 25 February 2019).

• An 18-year-old Belfield woman was charged with supply prohibited drug and possess prohibited drug. She was refused bail to appear at Parramatta Local Court today (Monday 25 February 2019).

• A 23-year-old St Marys man was charged with two counts of supply prohibited drug and deal with proceeds of crime. He was refused bail to appear at Parramatta Local Court today (Monday 25 February 2019).

Six were granted bail to appear at a later date;

• A 32-year-old Bondi man was charged with supply prohibited drug. He was granted conditional bail to appear at Parramatta Local Court on Wednesday (27 February 2019).

• A 23-year-old Dundas woman was charged with supply prohibited drug and deal with proceeds of crime. She was granted conditional bail to appear at Parramatta Local Court on Wednesday 6 March 2019.

• A 26-year-old South Wentworthville man was charged with supply prohibited drug and deal with proceeds of crime. He was granted conditional bail to appear at Parramatta Local Court on Tuesday 19 March 2019.

• A 20-year-old Chester Hill man was charged with supply prohibited drug and possess prohibited drug. He was granted conditional bail to appear at Parramatta Local Court on Wednesday 27 March 2019.

• A 22-year-old Central Coast man was charged with supply prohibited drug and deal with proceeds of crime. He was granted conditional bail to appear at Parramatta Local Court on Wednesday 27 March 2019.

• A 21-year- old Bondi woman was issued a Field Court Attendance Notice for supply prohibited drug and possess prohibited drug. She will appear at Parramatta Local Court on Tuesday 26 March 2019.

Ten people were taken to Westmead Hospital by ambulance; police have been told two remain in hospital while the rest have left after treatment.
